Interview to blogger Marta Sanahuja

2018-08-10 A job as a publicist, and a passion for cooking. Behind Spanish food blog “Delicious Martha” is Marta, a young girl who made of food her reason for living.

Her blog was born in 2006, almost unintentionally, when she decided to devote herself to the photography of her wonderful dishes: “If you want to present a recipe which, of course, cannot be smelt or tasted, then you must know how to make it capture other people’s attention!”

Marta believes that “you eat food with your eyes first”, and that is the message she has always tried to convey through the virtual pages of her blog.

We met this girl about one year ago, when we started a wonderful collaboration with her blog. For us, Marta took artistic photos and prepared sophisticated recipes, always highlighting the advantages of the SapienStone countertops.

Here’s our interview, in which she tells us her secrets, passions, inspirations and, most importantly, what is, in her opinion, the top in the kitchen.

  1. What inspires you the most for your recipes and your contents?
I love discovering the current trends and the seasonal ingredients, adding my personal touch to make them different.
To me, it is very important to choose and give the priority to those recipes that allow me to use fresh, seasonal ingredients and to get the most out of them. Moreover, quite often those recipes are the most beautiful to look at, and their photographs are just unmatchable.
Moreover, to be inspired, you need to be up-to-date on everything is going on. You have to read books and magazines, stay connected on social networks... You need to know what is trendy and what people like, so as to constantly offer different and original contents. From a classical recipe, which we have always seen on our tables at home, you can get to prepare a completely different one, showing your personal touch. This way, it can really reach other people's hearts.

  1. Let’s talk about the kitchen of your dreams. How should it be?
It should be large and spacious. It should have a long worktop where I can freely cook.
Since I spend most of my day in the kitchen or taking photographs, I need to be organised to work in an orderly fashion, and to have enough space, so as to be able to prepare different recipes at the same time. A large kitchen could really boost my efficiency!
Currently, I’m used to working in a very small kitchen where I don't have too much space available: I have to pile up tools and devices because they just don't meet all of my needs. It’s a real challenge! Of course, it’s also a waste of time, I’m always looking for something or moving things I need to use... This is why I would really appreciate to have a large room where I can create.

  1. When you think of Italian design, what comes to your mind?
Elegance, design, quality... Great quality!
Italian design has always been extremely appreciated. This is not only true about the kitchen, but also about a number of other sectors, such as the automotive sector, fashion, and design. Clearly, it is all about quality.
Every time I think of an Italian product, I always think it is something elegant, well-done, beautiful... And it would be perfect in a photograph (I know, I always end up talking about images)!

  1. What did you like the most in the SapienStone kitchen countertops?
They aren't just beautiful, they are resistant, great quality countertops.
I tested their material myself: you can slice and cook food on them without any problems, and they are extremely resistant. These countertops don't get dirty, don't get scratched... They are amazing, they are also easy to clean!
I tried several textures, and I must admit that they are also perfect in my photographs. My favourite texture is Light Earth, which I have often used as a background for my recipes with great results.

  1. What do you believe to be the top in the kitchen?
Having fun cooking, and seeing that my recipes are appreciated!
In the end, when you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, you don’t want your recipe to be simple food, you want it to be something that can really be enjoyed. Every recipe has its own history, as short as it could be, it’s not just a mixture of ingredients.
A dish can make you dream, can make you travel and feel a variety of emotions: that’s what really makes me feel good when I prepare a recipe.
