Spinach waffles – recipe by Freiknuspern

2018-11-05

Our dear Fabienne is back to delight our palates once again (with her light touch!). While she refreshed us this summer with her cool sorbet, she now presents a super savoury recipe!

Her blog, Freiknuspern, is known for its recipes for special diets, and in this case we present delicious gluten-free, vegan spinach waffles.

“Waffles are one of my favourite snacks! I sometimes eat them in place of a sandwich or hamburger. Their flavour is entirely up to your imagination!”

Fabienne made her savoury waffles (which are gluten-free and vegan) without adding any yeast or soy, flavouring them with a blend of pink pepper and cumin.

Today’s recipe is served on a Calacatta countertop, with an elegant white marble finish perfect for showing off these little savoury waffles with their characteristic shape.

As we reported in the summer, Fabienne was awe-struck by the SapienStone surface on which she made her delicious blackberry sorbet.

“SapienStone kitchen countertops are really special because they are not sensitive to stains, low or high temperatures or scratching. I was looking for a surface like this for my kitchen (and my photos) for many years: something that would not only look great, but be capable of withstanding all the stress of my little culinary experiments!”

Fabienne had a great time making her waffles on our countertop, cutting, blending and mixing her ingredients without worrying about accidents, and cleaning the surface easily afterwards.
