Sapienstone at Sicam: material tells its story through the 2026 novelties

From 20 to 23 October, Sapienstone will be at Sicam - Stand A18/B19, Pavilion 8, presenting the ceramic surfaces in its collection alongside this year’s new arrivals. Among the natural stones inspiring the new slabs, one idea prevails: material keeps the story of its own formation visible.

Negresco, the latest addition to the collection, is a dark breccia whose character is defined by fracture and recomposition: the parent rock breaks apart, and a new pattern emerges from the rupture. Negresco is inspired by a Brazilian brecciated quartzite with a dark, almost graphite-coloured background, crossed by a network of light veins that move freely across the surface, creating islands and cracks. The Natural finish follows the pattern: the eye immediately perceives its structure, while the touch reveals the depth of the veins, enhanced by a treatment specifically developed for this purpose. The slabs are available in 320×160 cm format and 12 mm thickness.

Breccia Rosa 4D brings the logic of breccia into colour. Inspired by the Veronese brecciated marble known as Breccia Pernice, its structure combines antique pink, terracotta and powder tones, crossed by irregular veins that convey the full material strength of the stone. Pink, a key colour in the palettes of design, fashion and contemporary art, becomes here a rich, layered material. The Cashmere finish envelops the ceramic surface in a velvety softness. The surface is available in 320×160 cm format and in 12 and 20 mm thicknesses.

Made using Iris Ceramica Group’s 4D technology, which extends the design into the body of the slab beyond the surface, Breccia Rosa offers the same colour intensity from exterior to interior, together with a visual consistency that remains intact even when the edges are finished and worked.

Travessa draws from travertine its parallel veining and tones ranging from ivory to hazelnut. It conveys its essence through a welcoming surface that brings warmth and balance to contemporary spaces. The Natural finish reveals the structure of the stone and its sense of depth. The slabs, available in 320×160 cm format and 12 mm thickness, are positioned vertically one above the other: the veining continues along the short side, extending the pattern into a continuous flow with almost imperceptible joints.

Muschelkalk is inspired by a sedimentary limestone from Central Europe. Its palette, suspended between warm and cool tones, from beige to grey with subtle hints of brown, develops through fluid transitions that evoke the natural deposition of sediments while maintaining visual consistency across large surfaces. In the Natural finish, available in 320×160 cm format and 12 mm thickness, the eye perceives a harmonious and understated whole, while the hand discovers a symphony of reliefs.

Sapienstone looks to natural stone as haute couture looks to fabric, with the same passion for material and the same attention to detail. At Sicam, this vision takes shape in surfaces to be seen up close and experienced through touch.

Breccia Rosa 4D: where the depth of matter meets invisible induction.

From 28 September to 1 October, Sapienstone will take part in Espacio Cocina SICI in Valencia – Level 3, Pavilion 3, Stand D34 – in collaboration with Cloen, a company specialised in developing technological solutions for the kitchen. Distributed in Spain by Cupa Stone, Sapienstone presents a collaboration that brings together innovation, material research and new ways of interpreting one of the central spaces of contemporary living.

At Espacio Cocina SICI, CCT – Cloen Cooking Technology is applied to a countertop made with Sapienstone’s Breccia Rosa 4D. The system integrates induction directly beneath the surface, leaving the cooking area concealed and the countertop free from any visible technical elements when not in use. The slab’s veining can therefore flow continuously from one end to the other, creating a material composition that respects the natural character of Breccia Rosa 4D.

Breccia Rosa 4D draws inspiration from the chromatic richness and expressive strength of natural stone, through a sophisticated composition in which antique pink, terracotta and dusty pink tones alternate with ivory nuances and traces of grey. It is characterised by 4D Ceramics technology, developed by Iris Ceramica Group, which allows the veins, nuances and motifs visible on the surface to continue into the depth of the material, running through the entire thickness of the slab. This continuity is particularly evident along the edges, which gain aesthetic value and become an integral part of the design.

In its application to the kitchen environment, Cloen translates this characteristic into a new way of experiencing the surface: the hand moves across the countertop without encountering profiles, openings or frames, while the eye reads the slab as a single chromatic gesture. Breccia Rosa 4D thus becomes the meeting point of an integrated ecosystem, where technology serves materiality, continuity and design freedom. Continuous and free from visible boundaries, the countertop brings together the different functions of the kitchen and creates a renewed user experience in which technology and design coexist without interrupting the surface.

The collaboration presented at Espacio Cocina SICI also confirms Sapienstone’s ability to anticipate interior design trends, developing surfaces capable of responding rapidly to new design directions. Breccia Rosa 4D, introduced this year, has already been used in prestigious projects, confirming its versatility across residential, hospitality and high-end interior design contexts. The partnership with Cloen adds a new chapter to this journey, placing Breccia Rosa 4D at the heart of a kitchen where technology progressively disappears from view, leaving space for materiality, surface continuity and design freedom.

In Valencia, technological innovation and ceramic research therefore converge in a single countertop that retains its full aesthetic impact while integrating one of the fundamental functions of the contemporary kitchen.

For Sapienstone, ceramic surfaces represent an eclectic material, layered with meaning and capable of engaging with the languages of contemporary culture. It is from this vision, shared with Iris Ceramica Group, that a programme of collaborations with leading figures from the worlds of art, fashion, gastronomy and culture takes shape. The first chapter features internationally renowned author and coach Roxie Nafousi, who opens the doors to her kitchen featuring Fior di Viola.

For Sapienstone, material becomes the meeting point between design, creativity and contemporary culture. It is from this perspective that a series of collaborations takes shape with personalities who interpret ceramics through different sensibilities, opening a dialogue that spans art, taste, fashion and culture.

With this vision, the brand, part of Iris Ceramica Group, has embarked on a journey that extends its language into worlds that may seem far removed from ceramics, yet ultimately share its deepest essence. Art, which transforms every vein into a creative expression. Culture, which enriches surfaces with layers of memory and references that transcend time. Taste, understood as a sensory dimension that shapes experiences: just as a dish captivates the eye before delighting the palate, Sapienstone surfaces express pleasure through textures, finishes and visual depth. Finally, fashion introduces the concept of a bespoke surface, tailored like a made-to-measure garment: every project follows a sartorial approach in which materials, proportions and finishes come together to dress a space with precision and personality.

From this intersection emerge collaborations with personalities who authentically inhabit these worlds, bringing their own perspective into dialogue with the material. Each project represents a chapter of its own: it tells the story of an exchange, creating a shared narrative where surfaces and lifestyle come together in a coherent expression.

The opening chapter features Roxie Nafousi. An internationally acclaimed author and coach, she has built her career around the themes of self-awareness and personal potential, helping people embrace a more authentic vision of their ambitions and their lives. A vision in which intentions matter just as much as choices, and the spaces we inhabit become an integral part of the identity we create.

Behind this choice lies a long process of research, as Roxie Nafousi explains: \"We spent many months searching for the perfect surface for our kitchen. I wanted a material that could combine beauty, authenticity and character, but every time I saw a marble slab in person, the result was different from what I had imagined. When I discovered Sapienstone's Fior di Viola 4D, I immediately knew it was exactly what I had been looking for. The continuity of the veining throughout the entire thickness of the slab gives it a depth and naturalness that you truly perceive within the space. It is precisely these subtle details—almost imperceptible at first glance—that make all the difference to the final result.\"

It is in this spirit that the collaboration with Sapienstone should be understood, with the brand taking centre stage in the kitchen of Roxie Nafousi's home, shaped by interior designer Lunara Bramley-Fenton. The chosen surface is Fior di Viola 4D, featuring deep burgundy veining flowing across a light background, with a visual depth enhanced by Iris Ceramica Group's 4D technology, which allows the veining and tonal variations to extend throughout the entire thickness of the slab, blurring the boundary between surface and material.

In Roxie's kitchen, Fior di Viola 4D is used for the worktop with integrated sink and the full-height backsplash, while also taking centre stage on the large island, the focal point of the entire space, crowned by a striking ceiling-mounted extractor hood clad on all four sides. The beauty of the veining is revealed most vividly along the slab edges: looking up towards the perimeter of the hood, running your hand along the edge of the worktop or following the shelf that frames the wall cladding.

Fior di Viola 4D belongs to the Dress Code collection, designed by Jaime Beriestain for Sapienstone. The collection stems from a simple intuition: interior architecture can be conceived with the same approach used to create a bespoke garment. Surfaces, textures and materials dress interiors, giving them a distinctive character and a deeply coherent aesthetic identity. In Fior di Viola 4D, this vision finds one of its most complete expressions and, in Roxie Nafousi's kitchen, goes beyond design to become part of everyday life.

The Dress Code collection by Jaime Beriestain and the 4D Ceramic Surfaces receive double recognition from Marie Claire Maison.

Sapienstone won two awards at the second edition of the Top of Design, the recognition promoted by Marie Claire Maison—one of the most authoritative French magazines in furniture and interior design—in collaboration with Consumer Guidance France, dedicated to the most innovative and relevant creations in the world of contemporary design.

The awards were given to two standout brand achievements: the Dress Code collection by Jaime Beriestain and the 4D Ceramic Surfaces, a technology developed by Iris Ceramica Group and expressed through Sapienstone surfaces.

Dress Code by Jaime Beriestain was born from the fusion of design, haute couture, and ceramics. Awarded in the Wall & Floor Surface Covering category, this project bears the signature of Jaime Beriestain, who transformed ceramics into a blend of rich textures, varied formats, and a sophisticated color palette capable of dressing any space with character and refinement. Among the key pieces is the Fior di Viola 4D marble, with its burgundy veining, and the innovative Plissé effect, which evokes the depth and luxury of the most exclusive fabrics.

4D Ceramic Surfaces, a revolutionary technology developed by Iris Ceramica Group, received recognition in the Decorative Surface Covering category. The 4D technology originates from a meticulous layering process of the highest-quality natural raw materials: the veining and its shades unfold continuously throughout the entire thickness of the material (12 and 20 mm), creating unprecedented visual continuity. This distinctive feature translates into real design freedom: edge processing opens up an infinite range of possibilities adaptable to both worktops and cladding, enabling the creation of highly customized spaces.

A double recognition in two distinct categories that clearly expresses what Sapienstone represents today: a brand that brings together the signature of an international designer and the technological innovation of Iris Ceramica Group on the same stage, establishing itself as a benchmark in the evolution of contemporary ceramics.
