SapienStone, a brand of the Iris Ceramica Group, will return to Madrid to participate in Casa Decor 2024, presenting products selected by top interior design studios, which will be displayed in six different areas of the impressive Palacio de la Trinidad.
This important and long-established design event, which takes place from 11 April to 26 May, will be held in the splendid new setting of the Palacio de La Trinidad, a private three-storey building with an outdoor area where visitors will have the opportunity to explore all 53 spaces.
Here is a closer look at the SapienStone surfaces featured in these spaces.
Luna Limestone for Espacio Euromobil, ‘In/Out Kitchen’ (Dosde)
Luna Limestone was chosen for both the kitchen worktop and the cupboard doors. The kitchen is the focal point of this area, with a central island that seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings. The Luna Limestone worktop, which is 12 mm thick, extends from the kitchen all the way outside, forming an open-air bar that is perfect for preparing meals outside. The doors, which are 6 mm thick, are made from the same material as the surface, which makes them weatherproof and suitable for outdoor kitchens.
Piasentina for Spazio Xaza (Raquel Chamorro)
Piasentina – in the 6 and 12 mm structured version – was chosen for cladding the outdoor kitchen of NOVARA in the Spazio Xaza outdoor area. The area also includes a swimming pool with sun loungers, a vertical garden for growing herbs used in cooking, and a chill-out area for relaxing while enjoying a cocktail or socialising.
Grand Antique 4D Cashmere for Spazio ITA (Jean Porsche)
Inspired by Luchino Visconti, Spazio ITA has created an environment reminiscent of the great Italian director’s office. Design has evolved since then but remains rooted in the revival that followed the Second World War, when entrepreneurs established a network of skilled craftsmen and large companies that grew internationally, giving impetus to Italian design. Luchino Visconti’s office embodies all of these characteristics: a blue background, a large stone fireplace in Grand Antique 4D Cashmere and elegantly designed furniture with wood cladding, which become must-haves because, just like films, they make us dream and make us want to own them.
Balance, Platinum White and Uni Ice for Spazio Delamora, ‘Alice’ (Vonna)
For this setting, Vonna drew inspiration from Alice in Wonderland: a world of atypical, timeless spaces where visitors can immerse themselves in a fantasy world that delights the senses. The flooring is a combination of textured surfaces with a natural look in 6 mm thick Balance Ivory, Balance Light Grey and Platinum White. The Uni Ice kitchen worktop is 12 mm thick and polished, combining the sophistication of the material with SapienStone technology: the induction hob is concealed within the material, and there are no appliances on the worktop, creating a continuous look.
Premium White and Dark Marquina for Spazio Sixty Pro, ‘Aurea Fabula’
Spazio Sixty Pro is more than just classic, modern and eclectic. The designers chose a kitchen inspired by the Palacio de la Trinidad, the 1920s building that hosts Casa Decor. The flooring in the room is a combination of Premium White in a natural finish and Dark Marquina in a sophisticated silky finish. The result is a blend of avant-garde and brutalism, which were common at the time, as aesthetics took precedence over functionality: Aurea Fabula conveys the message that reconciling rationality with a more magical and mysterious side is a challenge in itself. As a result, design becomes a way for us to express ourselves freely.
Kuroca 4D and Calacatta 4D Cashmere for Spazio Tarimatec, ‘Lanai Restaurant & Lifestyle’ (Adriana Nicolau)
This space was designed by Spazio Tarimatec as a veranda (lanai in Hawaiian), perfect for admiring the beauty of the gardens outside while enjoying the charm of the interior spaces, enriched by friezes and coffered ceilings. There is also a pleasant bar area in the veranda, with a large counter made of two distinct materials: Kuroca 4D and Calacatta 4D in a cashmere finish. The same material was chosen for the tops of the tables where visitors can sit and enjoy an aperitif, with drinks and snacks, or a meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
