Giulia Scarpaleggia - Jul's Kitchen

2018-06-05 In 2012 I turned my passion into a job. In 2013 I met Tommaso, and everything changed: what had been my personal blog became a shared life project.
We have a kitchen in the Tuscan countryside overlooking a farmyard with a vegetable garden, a few fruit trees and potted herbs. Here we cook dishes inspired by the traditions of Tuscany and Italy, made from fresh ingredients in season. These recipes, cooked, tested, photographed and written up with care, appear here on the blog along with stories of everyday life, stories about ingredients and producers, and travel itineraries for discovery of little-known corners of our beloved Tuscany.
Juls’ Kitchen was created to inspire you to cook simple dishes in which the focus is on top quality fresh ingredients. We want to demonstrate that everyone can enjoy good, honest food in season. Each one of our recipes is like a magic spell that will help you recreate the true atmosphere of Tuscany in your own kitchen, with its herbs, garlic roasting in olive oil and unsalted Tuscan bread.
Our love of traditional family recipes inspired my first cookbook, Le ricette di mia nonna – My grandma’s recipes, published in Italian and English, about the food we enjoy every day at home. It was followed in 2012 by I love Toscana, published by Food Editore, which was then translated into English, Dutch, Polish and Taiwan Chinese. In 2014 BUR published Cucina da chef con ingredienti low cost, and in 2015 Gribaudo published Cucina naturale: Frutta. My fifth book, La Cucina dei Mercati in Toscana, was published by Guido Tommasi Editore in February 2017. The English version, From the Markets of Tuscany: A cookbook, came out in April 2018.
